Kalimba Foundation was established in 2001 as a performance driven supportive housing organization, that collaborates with drug courts, recovery agencies and community organizations to reduce the ratio of homelessness for individuals suffering from mental illness and substance abuse disorder.
Kalimba Foundation seeks to change the culture of recovery by bridging the gap between treatment and independent living. We believe that recovery involves a personal recognition of the need for change and personal transformation to become productive and contributing members of society.
We believe recovery is a process of healing and self-redefinition that requires time and support. Kalimba Foundation seeks to allow each and every recovery individual the opportunity to feel "right at home" in keeping with the Kalimba Foundation motto of "A place we call home".
All our activities, programs and services are built on principles of Recovery Support, Peer Responsibility and Consistency.
